WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME...

I dance with all my might when I know no one's watching.
I love country music, and currently am LOVING the Ed Sheeran + Sara Bareilles stations on Pandora!
Outdoorsy activities make me happy. The warm and fuzzy kind of happy :D
I am a sucker for furry animals and cute old people. No, really. I am.
    Pizza.
I love, love snowboarding. Seriously. Like I REALLY LOVE snowboarding.
I love chatting it up with creative minds.
If I could, I would travel the world with a suitcase full of lenses and my camera, and learn every language I possibly can.

Calico Ghost Town : Travel Photography

One of the awesome things about driving to WPPI (Weddings and Portraits Photographers International) by myself is the fact that I can sing along with awesome Country songs and stop whenever I want to (ok, I guess that was two things). My drive to Vegas wasn’t great, because what is normally a 4.5 hour drive for me turned out to be a 7 hour drive. Yes. But my drive back home was a breeze and was so refreshing. I had time to think to myself, soak in all the useful information from WPPI, think about all the ways I want to improve my business, and the best of all, stop by Calico Ghost Town for some inspiration and rejuvenation. Every year, Sandy Puc picks a random location in the world and just goes for 48 hours to photograph away, be inspired and get rejuvenated. And although I don’t necessarily have the means to travel somewhere “far,” I love travel photography, and my inspiration can come from anywhere. Call it a mini retreat, if you will. A very mini retreat. I walked Calico Town for only an hour or so, slowly, just breathing in the clean air (ok, a little dusty, but still, non-Vegas-Casino air), and appreciated the beauty of an old West mining town that has been around since 1881. There’s so much beauty all around us, and so much history in the abandoned town. It was nice to be able to just slow down and take a closer look at what I would’ve normally missed. So here’s a tidbit of my time in Calico. More will be posted on Facebook. I think I might do this more often- travel photography, that is.
