Thor and Laney : Pasadena Pet Photographer

This 4th of July, we decided to try something new. Laney (our part Labrador, part Shiba Inu) had her first swimming lesson for the first time. Thor was the example we had hoped Laney would follow. We realized that it being Laney’s first time in the water (not counting the one time at a dog beach she accidentally touched the water playing fetch), Laney would be hesitant and scared. But we never expected her to be as anxious as she was. Because Thor was taught to swim by a professional dog trainer, Thor’s dad shared his knowledge and got Laney in the water. It was a miracle. Haha! To all the doggie parents out there, do you have a furry friend who loves to swim? If so, would you mind sharing tips/tricks? I’d love to hear about your experience!

So this is Thor, showing Laney the “how-to’s” and how fun swimming can be! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Thor himself didn’t enjoy his first time at 4 months… it was Oct/Nov when the water was chilly. The second time was also much the same, but we wanted to make sure he was water safe in the backyard. Likewise before we knew it, Thor wanted to swim with us.

Beautiful! Thor is a wonderful sweet dog, who holds a special place in my heart, as does his owners. So glad that he could show you doggie how it should be done. Lovely article and pictures.
